Milan, 27 January (LaPresse) – "Survivors have left us their stories: a huge number of books, testimonies, recordings, interviews. No genocide has ever been documented in such depth. Rather, we are entering a completely new era, where all post-war efforts to build a world based on rules, on principles based on cooperation and not on force, are being called into question." Piotr Cywinski, director of the Auschwitz Memorial, said this in an interview with Corriere della Sera. Regarding the impact of the war in Gara, Cywinski explains: “As far as the perception of the Holocaust is concerned, I hope it will not have a decisive impact, because the Holocaust is a subject of historical study. However, there are groups of visitors who have decided not to come to Auschwitz: for example, those who do not want their visit to be interpreted as support for Netanyahu. Or those who believe that Poland is too biased in favour of Ukraine”.
