Nuuk (Greenland), Jan 25 (LaPresse) – The capital of Greenland, Nuuk, was left without electricity due to strong winds that disrupted the power grid. This was reported by the public utility company Nukissiorfiit. The city, which has about 20,000 inhabitants, relies mainly on a hydroelectric plant, which went offline last night. Power was partially restored three hours later, while the company activated an emergency plant to supply certain areas. The strong winds also caused Internet connectivity disruptions. According to NetBlocks, an organization that monitors the network, the capital experienced a significant drop in connection.
