Minneapolis (Minnesota, USA), 24 January (LaPresse) – Federal agents opened fire in Minneapolis amid the crackdown on immigration implemented by Donald Trump's US administration. The news was reported by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The Democrat wrote on social media that he had contacted the White House after the shooting and called on President Donald Trump to end the crackdown in his state. "I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had enough. It's disgusting. The president must end this operation. Withdraw the thousands of violent and untrained agents from Minnesota. Now," he wrote on X. Details of the shooting have not yet been clarified. On Friday, thousands of protesters demonstrating against the crackdown on immigrants crowded the streets of the city despite the freezing cold, demanding that federal law enforcement leave. Protesters have gathered daily in the Twin Cities since 7 January, when Renee Good, 37, a mother of three, was killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent. Federal law enforcement officers have repeatedly clashed with community members and activists who are following their movements.
