Brussels, Jan. 19 (LaPresse) – "At Davos, I met with a bipartisan delegation of the United States Congress. We discussed our joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. This process benefits from strong EU-US coordination, from security guarantees to a path toward prosperity," wrote the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on X.
"I also addressed the need to unequivocally respect the sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark. This is of fundamental importance for our transatlantic relations," she explained. "At the same time, the European Union remains ready to continue working closely with the United States, NATO, and other allies, in close cooperation with Denmark, to promote our shared security interests. We also discussed transatlantic trade and investment, which represent an important resource for both the EU and US economies. Tariffs are contrary to these common interests," she concluded.
