Copenhagen, Jan. 19 (LaPresse) – "It is important to make Trump understand that this is not the path to follow." This was stated by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen to the media after a meeting with his British counterpart, Yvette Cooper, regarding Donald Trump’s latest announcements on Greenland. The Guardian reports.
Rasmussen emphasized that failing to send a strong signal in response could be seen as showing weakness toward the United States. "It is important that all of us who believe in international law speak out to show Trump that this path cannot continue," he explained. He added that it is important for the EU and its allies "to defend the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty to show the American president that one can have a desire, a vision, but it will never be achieved by putting pressure on us."
