Brussels, Jan 13 (LaPresse) – "The increase in the number of victims in Iran is frightening. I unreservedly condemn the excessive use of force and the ongoing restriction of freedom. The European Union has already fully included the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in its human rights sanctions regime. In close cooperation with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas, further sanctions will be rapidly proposed against those responsible for the repression. We stand with the Iranian people who march courageously for their freedom." This was announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on X.
