France: protest against Mercosur, 350 tractors enter Paris

Milan, 13 January (LaPresse) – Around 350 tractors entered the French capital, Paris, to protest against the imminent signing of the free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur. The procession, which is also calling for greater administrative simplification in the sector, is heading towards the National Assembly. This was reported by the French broadcaster Bfmtv. Since yesterday evening, a motorway toll booth on the A1 motorway has also been blocked. A dozen farmers are still on site, in front of the bales of hay placed against the barriers. There are fewer than yesterday, as some of them have been forced to return to their farms. The farmers have received support from some local residents, who brought them supplies throughout the night. The blockade is expected to continue until tomorrow.
