Caracas, Jan. 5 (LaPresse) – Venezuelan interim leader Delcy Rodríguez has invited US President Donald Trump “to cooperate” and stated her intention to establish “respectful relations” in a recently conciliatory message posted Sunday evening. After delivering fiercely challenging speeches toward the Trump administration this past weekend, Rodríguez’s statement in English on her Instagram account marked a drastic change of tone. “We invite the United States government to cooperate with us on a development-oriented cooperation program within the framework of international law to strengthen lasting community coexistence,” she wrote. Her message comes shortly after Trump had threatened that she would “pay a very high price” if she did not comply with US demands. However, speaking from Air Force One on his return to Washington, Trump reiterated that in Venezuela “we are in command.”
