Paris, Jan. 5 (LaPresse) – A ruling is awaited from the Paris court in a case involving 10 people accused of cyberbullying against French First Lady Brigitte Macron. The defendants allegedly posted malicious comments, including claims that President Emmanuel Macron’s wife was born male. Her daughter testified about the impact of the harassment on the family. Some defendants claimed their comments were intended as humor or satire. They face up to two years in prison if convicted. The case follows years of conspiracy theories about Brigitte Macron. The Macrons have also filed a defamation lawsuit in the United States against conservative influencer Candace Owens.
