Turin, 5 January (LaPresse) – Following the cancellation of three commercial flights to Milan yesterday – due to the suspension of air traffic from Greece due to a technical communications failure – around 600 Italian nationals are currently stranded in the tourist resort of Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt. This was reported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Of these, Alpitour customers (about 90) are expected to return on a special Neos flight, scheduled to depart at midnight tonight. Other Italian nationals will return on the same flight, coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Cairo, which has sent two officials to the resort. In close collaboration with the Foreign Ministry, the Embassy is also providing maximum assistance to Italian nationals who have been left stranded to ensure that they are accommodated in suitable facilities and to identify new flights that will allow them to return to Italy as soon as possible.
