Milan, 4 January (LaPresse) – "Following preliminary investigations conducted under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Valais, a criminal investigation has been opened against the two managers of the “Le Constellation” bar in Crans-Montana. ‘They are charged with manslaughter, negligent bodily harm and negligent arson. No coercive measures have been ordered against the defendants, as there are currently no grounds for preventive detention.’ This is according to a statement from the Swiss cantonal police summarising the investigation. “At present, there is no suspicion that the defendants intend to evade criminal proceedings or the expected punishment by fleeing. Other factors, such as the risk of recidivism or collusion, are not being taken into consideration. The investigation is ongoing to ascertain any other possible criminal liability,” the statement continues.
