Rome, Jan. 2 (LaPresse) – The International Olympic Committee, headquartered in Lausanne, has lowered the flags to half-mast in mourning for the victims of the tragic fire in Crans-Montana. "We wish to express our solidarity with the host country and join in the deep sorrow felt by the Swiss people upon learning this terrible news," announced IOC President Kirsty Coventry in a press release. "As a sign of respect, the Olympic flag will be flown at half-mast at the Olympic Museum and the Olympic House."
