Tehran (Iran), Dec. 30 (LaPresse) – “I have tasked the Interior Minister with listening to the legitimate demands of the population through dialogue with representatives of the protesters, so that the government can act responsibly and with all its resources to solve the problems.” This was written on X by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in response to protests by merchants and shopkeepers currently taking place in Tehran. “The livelihood of the population,” Pezeshkian wrote, “is my daily concern. We have planned fundamental measures to reform the monetary and banking system and to preserve the purchasing power of the population.”
