Rome, 29 December (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law prohibiting the enforcement in Russia of foreign criminal court judgments whose jurisdiction is not based on an international treaty to which Moscow is a party or on a UN Security Council resolution. Interfax reported the news, stating that the document had been published on the official legal information portal. According to the law, the judgments of foreign courts that have received powers in criminal proceedings from other countries without the participation of Russia and international judicial bodies whose jurisdiction is not based on an international treaty of the Russian Federation or a UN Security Council resolution adopted in the exercise of the powers provided for in Chapter VII of the UN Charter cannot be enforced in Russia.
