Rome, Dec. 28 (LaPresse) – “This is one of the most intense periods of the year from a diplomatic standpoint, and many issues could be resolved before New Year. We are doing everything possible, but the final decisions depend on our partners, on those who help Ukraine, and on those who exert pressure on Russia so that the Russians face the consequences of their own aggression,” writes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram ahead of his meeting in Florida with U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Just this week alone,” he explains, “they have launched over 2,100 attack drones, about 800 guided bombs, and 94 missiles of various types. All against our people, against life and everything that makes it normal, especially against our energy infrastructure.”
“Our repair teams, energy workers, and rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are literally working 24/7 to protect lives and restore energy supplies. But it is equally important that sanctions against Russia, all forms of political pressure for the aggression, and the supply of missiles for Ukraine’s air defense are effective, and that we all finalize the measures that will end this war and ensure security. It is precisely these measures that we will discuss today with our partners. Thanks to everyone who is helping us,” Zelensky concludes.
