Rome, 27 December (LaPresse) – During a video call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, ‘the eleven European and Canadian heads of state and government, as well as NATO and EU leaders, assured Ukraine of their full support and stressed the importance of working closely with the United States for a lasting and just peace in Ukraine’. This was reported by the German government in a statement. Berlin noted that Zelensky, on the initiative of Chancellor Friedrich Merz, updated the leaders on the upcoming peace talks with Trump and ‘informed the so-called Berlin Group on the status of the negotiations.’
