Turin, 27 December (LaPresse) – Israel and the United States are at odds over the future of the Gaza Strip: the sticking point is whether to begin reconstruction or to proceed with demilitarisation first. This was reported by Israeli broadcaster Kan. The US administration aims to proceed with phase B of Trump's plan to end the war by the middle of next month. Israeli officials say that the US would like the two actions to take place simultaneously: the demilitarisation and reconstruction of the Strip. However, Israel would prefer to dismantle Hamas and demilitarise the Strip before moving on to the reconstruction phase.
