Milan, 26 December (LaPresse) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in a statement, confirmed ‘that Nigerian authorities continue to collaborate in a structured manner with international partners, including the United States, in the fight against the persistent threat of terrorism and violent extremism.’ This has led, it is emphasised, ‘to targeted attacks against terrorist targets in Nigeria through air raids in the north-west of the country.’ ‘In line with established international practice and bilateral agreements, such cooperation includes information sharing, strategic coordination and other forms of support consistent with international law, mutual respect for sovereignty and shared commitments to regional and global security,’ the statement continues.
