Brussels, 19 Dec. (LaPresse) – "I am satisfied with the results of this European Council, where I presented the positions that I was clearly obliged to take on by the parliamentary resolution and the position we presented yesterday in Parliament, particularly on two issues that were important to us. The first was to guarantee the necessary support to Ukraine for the next two years, but to do so with a solution that is sustainable from a legal and financial point of view. I am pleased that common sense prevailed, that we managed to secure the necessary resources, but to do so with a solution and a solid legal and financial basis." This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the end of the EU summit in Brussels, where an agreement was reached on a €90 billion loan to Kiev. “The issue of assets remains in the conclusions. We already took the most important decision on the issue of assets a few days ago when we froze the assets, ensuring that they will not be returned,” added the Prime Minister.
