Washington (USA), Dec 16 (LaPresse) – Donald Trump “has the personality of an alcoholic,” despite the president being known to be a teetotaler. This was stated by the powerful Susie Wiles, White House chief of staff, in an interview with Vanity Fair. Wiles said that Trump governs with “the idea that there is nothing he cannot do. Nothing, zero, nothing.” “High-functioning alcoholics, or alcoholics in general, have an exaggerated personality when they drink,” she explained. The chief of staff then stressed that “there could be an element” of political retaliation in the proceedings against his political opponents. “People might think it looks vindictive,” she said in response to a question about the criminal case against former FBI director James Comey. “I don’t think he wakes up thinking about revenge. But when the opportunity presents itself, he takes it.” Wiles said she had tried to persuade the president to put an end to his “settling of scores” within the first 90 days of his second term. The attempt, she admitted, failed, while his push for the initiation of legal proceedings continued. Wiles then offered unflattering assessments of some of the tycoon’s closest allies. Of Vice President JD Vance, she said he has been “a conspiracy theorist for a decade” and suggested that his evolution from Trump critic to loyal ally had been “somewhat political.” Regarding Elon Musk, Wiles said he is a “confirmed ketamine user” and “a strange, strange guy, as I think geniuses are.” His move to dismantle the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), however, left her “astonished.” Addressing Attorney General Pam Bondi, Wiles said she had “completely gotten it wrong” in handling the Epstein files.
