Rome, 11 December (LaPresse) – The United States is ‘pushing’ Ukraine to ‘withdraw its troops from Donbass’. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference. The United States aims to create a ‘free economic zone’ in the parts of Donbass currently controlled by Kiev. Any transfer of territory to Russia should be decided by the Ukrainian people, ‘through elections or referendums,’ added the Kiev leader. ‘I believe that the Ukrainian people will answer this question. Through elections or a referendum, but there must be a position of the people,’ he said. “The United States can take measures to unblock our path to the European Union by certain states. They can act politically. You and I know that the President of the United States has certain levers of influence and that this will work on those who are currently blocking Ukraine,” the Ukrainian president concluded.
