Turin, 10 Dec. (LaPresse) – "Yesterday, peacekeepers in vehicles patrolling the Blue Line were attacked by IDF soldiers in a Merkava tank near Sarda. A ten-round burst of machine-gun fire was fired over the convoy, and four more ten-round bursts were fired nearby.‘ UNIFIL announced this in a statement, reiterating that ’attacks against peacekeeping forces or in their vicinity constitute serious violations of Security Council Resolution 1701." ‘In this extremely delicate situation,’ the statement continues, ‘we call on the IDF to cease its aggressive behaviour and attacks against or in the vicinity of peacekeeping forces working to restore stability along the Blue Line.’
