Ukraine, Rutte: ‘Only a handful of allies outside US arms purchases’

Brussels, 3 December (LaPresse) – "Today we heard from allies who are committing more resources to support Ukraine through PURL (the US military support programme for Ukraine, Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List), including Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Poland. Now more than two-thirds of allies have committed, and although not present at our meeting today, we heard from Australia and New Zealand, which will also contribute to PURL, the first NATO partners to do so." This was stated by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the press conference following the Atlantic Alliance's Foreign Ministers' meeting. "This means that allies and partners have now committed over £4 billion to PURL, putting us on track for £5 billion for the whole year. And this flow of eight billion is crucial, and I once again call on everyone to accelerate their commitments, not only for this winter, but also planning for 2026. So, at the moment, only a handful of nations, just over a handful, have not yet committed to the investigation. That's the good news," he remarks.
