Washington (USA), 2 December (LaPresse) – Military operations against alleged drug traffickers' vessels in the Caribbean ‘are legal, both under US law and international law’. This was stated by Pentagon spokesperson Kingsley Wilson to the press. Admiral Frank Bradley will provide a closed-door briefing on Thursday to members of the Senate and House Armed Services Committees regarding the attacks launched against vessels suspected of being used by Venezuelan drug traffickers. On 2 December, Bradley was authorised by Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth to order a second attack on survivors clinging to the wreckage of a boat that had already been hit. The action, which came to light thanks to a scoop by the Washington Post, has sparked considerable controversy, with several parliamentarians and experts suggesting that the US has committed a war crime.
