Frankfurt (Germany), 24 Nov. (LaPresse) – German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has described talks on the US-proposed peace plan for Ukraine as a ‘decisive success’ for Europeans. Wadephul said that issues ‘concerning Europe’ had been removed from the plan, while stressing that both the EU and Kiev must be involved in any peace agreement. ‘All issues concerning Europe, including those concerning NATO, have been removed from this plan,’ Wadephul told Deutschlandfunk radio, describing the result as a ‘decisive success.’ . ‘From the outset, it was clear, as we repeatedly stated, that no agreement should be reached without involving the Europeans and the Ukrainians,’ he added. The original plan contained several elements that were heavily criticised by both Kiev and Brussels, including a ban on Ukraine joining NATO.
