Frankfurt (Germany), 17 Nov. (LaPresse) – The President of the German Bundestag, Julia Kloeckner, expressed ‘her strong appreciation for the presence of the President of the Italian Republic in Berlin for the National Day of Mourning and for his commemorative speech’. This was reported to LaPresse by the Bundestag office, regarding the speech given by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, to the German parliament on the occasion of the National Day of Mourning last Sunday. “The two politicians also met for bilateral talks before the commemorative ceremony,” the Bundestag office explained. In his speech, Mattarella referred, among other things, to the dangers of a new nuclear arms race and condemned violence against civilians during wars, such as in Kiev and Gaza.
