Milan, Nov. 16 (LaPresse) – French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said he is confident that the jewels stolen during the October 19 theft at the Louvre Museum in Paris can be recovered. “As long as we have no proof that they have been resold, I remain hopeful,” Nunez said in an interview with La Tribune Dimanche, noting that authorities have arrested three of the four suspected perpetrators of the theft. In the lengthy interview, the minister of Place Beauvau also addressed relations between France and Algeria, stressing the importance of dialogue on security, anti-terrorism cooperation and immigration management. He also reiterated that France has increased its resources in the fight against terrorism and that, although zero risk does not exist, the French system is now much more effective in prevention and response.
