Turin, Nov. 12 (LaPresse) – Three months before October 7, the then head of Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, sent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a confidential document urging policy changes toward Gaza and outlining a proposed new strategic approach toward Hamas and other threats. This was reported by Channel 12, according to which Bar called for proactive measures against Hamas leaders in Gaza and proposed operational plans to separate Israel's various security domains, which were becoming increasingly convergent. Netanyahu, irritated by what he considered an intrusion by the Shin Bet chief into political matters, did not convene any discussion on the document. According to the broadcaster, the document could become key evidence in any future state commission of inquiry into the responsibilities and failures that preceded the attack.
