Tariffs: China extends suspension of 24% tariffs on imports from the US

Milan, 5 Nov. (LaPresse) – China will continue to suspend additional 24% tariffs on imports from the United States for one year, while maintaining the 10% rate. This was announced by the Customs Tariff Commission of the Chinese State Council, as reported by the Xinhua news agency. China will make the adjustment starting at 1:01 p.m. (6:01 a.m. in Italy) on 10 November 2025. According to the commission, the initiative aims to put into practice the results and consensus reached in economic and trade talks between China and the United States after the meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. 'The continued suspension of certain additional tariffs between China and the United States will help promote the healthy, stable and sustainable development of bilateral economic and trade relations,“ the commission added, 'bringing benefits to the people of both countries and contributing to global prosperity”.
