Washington (USA), 30 October (LaPresse/AP) – China has agreed to purchase 25 million metric tonnes of US soybeans per year as part of the agreement between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. This was reported by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who specified that China will begin by purchasing 12 million metric tonnes of soybeans from the United States between now and January. ‘So, you know, our great soybean farmers, who the Chinese have used as political pawns, are no longer on the negotiating table and should thrive in the years to come,’ Bessent said in an interview on Fox Business Network's “Mornings with Maria”, specifying that the agreement will last for three years.
