Rome, 25 October (LaPresse) – At least eight civilians have been killed and 67 wounded in the last 24 hours following a series of Russian attacks on various regions of Ukraine. This was reported by local authorities, as reported by Kiev Independent. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched nine Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Rostov and Kursk regions, along with 62 Shahed-type attack and diversionary drones. Ukrainian air defences shot down 50 of them, but 12 drones and five missiles hit four locations. The most serious situation is in the Kherson region, where three people were killed and 29 injured, including three children, as a result of bombing and drones. Twenty-nine residential buildings were hit, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported. In Kyiv, a missile attack left two people dead and twelve injured, while in the Dnipro region there were two fatalities and seven injuries. In Donetsk, one person was killed and five injured; in Kharkiv, thirteen people were injured and 25,000 residents were left without electricity due to damage to energy infrastructure. A 63-year-old man was also injured in the Zaporizhzhia region. The authorities in Kiev claim that Moscow has intensified its attacks on the energy sector, just as the arrival of cold weather increases demand for energy. President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of “turning the cold into a weapon”, targeting infrastructure to “terrorise the civilian population”.
