Milan, Oct. 24 (LaPresse) – “If Hamas refuses to demilitarize, that will constitute a violation of the agreement, and there will have to be consequences. I won’t go into the details of the mechanisms through which it will be enforced, but it will have to be enforced,” said U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a press conference at the U.S.-Israel ceasefire coordination center. “This is an agreement, and an agreement requires that conditions be met,” he added. “Israel has fulfilled its commitments. It is on the yellow line, and that is conditional on demilitarization.” Rubio also noted that the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza as part of the second phase of the agreement “are a long-term project,” adding: “We want to help create the conditions so that the people of Gaza will no longer be terrorized by Hamas and can, in fact, have a life, a job, a business, and a better future.” The report comes from the Times of Israel.
