Milan, Oct. 21 (LaPresse) – Following the instructions of Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, a technical delegation organized by the Italian Foreign Ministry carried out a mission to Jerusalem and Ramallah between October 20 and 21 for the reconstruction of Gaza.
The mission included representatives from various branches of the Italian state: in addition to the Foreign Ministry and the Office of the Diplomatic Adviser to the Prime Minister, also the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Civil Protection, and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
In Ramallah, the Italian delegation met with members of the Palestinian National Authority, in particular the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Estephan Salameh, and the Minister of Finance, Omar Bitar.
As part of the effort to mobilize resources for reconstruction, meetings were also held in Jerusalem with representatives of the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, and other European Union institutions.
The delegation also met with Health Minister Maged Abu Ramadan to discuss ongoing programs to provide medical care for Palestinian children and patients. Discussions also focused on Italy’s potential launch of innovative projects in telemedicine, prosthetics, maternal and child health, as well as the possible deployment of Italian doctors and medical equipment to strengthen healthcare in the region.
