Milan, Oct. 16 (LaPresse) – The residents of Gaza will not be forced to leave the Strip during the reconstruction. This was stated by a senior adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, as reported by the Times of Israel. Trump’s plan to end the war explicitly states that Palestinians will be encouraged to remain in the Gaza Strip, but reporters continued to ask whether anyone would be forced to leave, recalling that in February Trump had proposed that the U.S. take control of Gaza and permanently relocate the entire population of the Strip. Speaking at a press conference on condition of anonymity, the U.S. adviser quoted by the Times of Israel emphasized that Washington has shifted its stance on the issue. “These are strong people. They’ve gone through a lot and seem to be resilient. They’re returning to their homes and putting up tents. People feel deeply connected to the places they live. It’s remarkable to see,” he said. He added, “Although there are people from Gaza who have left because living conditions are so difficult… no one is forcing anyone to leave.”
