Berlin, October 14 (LaPresse) – German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has called on China and Russia to support the United Nations Security Council resolution on the peace proposal for Gaza put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump. “We need a legally sound framework for the deployment of protection forces from various countries in the Gaza Strip,” Wadephul said during a meeting in Bucharest with Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Toiu, according to Zdf. The German top diplomat stressed that Beijing and Moscow’s backing of the resolution is “indispensable” to ensure the implementation of the diplomatic initiative and the stability of the ceasefire: “Only international consensus can turn the ceasefire into a real step towards peace.”
