Germany, Bild: several large drones spotted at Munich airport

Frankfurt (Germany), 3 October (LaPresse) – According to rumours gathered by Bild from German security sources, the drone alert at Munich airport may have been more serious than previously reported. On Thursday evening, “several larger drones” were sighted, according to a senior official familiar with the dossier and the internal report. According to the report, at least one drone had a “larger wingspan”. It is not yet clear whether this was a so-called “large fixed-wing drone” like the one reported last week over Kiel. What is certain, however, is that the federal police intervened immediately after the first alarm with anti-drone defence systems. By the time they arrived, however, the remote-controlled aircraft had already disappeared. At present, there are no clues as to who was behind the attack. The federal police have officially stated that, despite “extensive search operations”, it has not yet been possible to identify those responsible. The area was flown over for checks, but without result.
