Rome, 1 October (LaPresse) – A senior Hamas official told the BBC that the organisation is likely to reject US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, telling the British broadcaster that it ‘serves the interests of Israel’ and ‘ignores those of the Palestinian people’. The official added that Hamas opposes several key provisions of the plan. These include the demand for the group to disarm and the intervention of a so-called International Stabilisation Force to take control of Gaza, while Hamas leaves and the Israeli armed forces withdraw. Hamas is also believed to oppose the demand for the release of all 48 hostages within the first 72 hours of the agreement's adoption.
