Dubai (United Arab Emirates), September 29 (LaPresse) – Iran has announced the hanging of a man, identified as Bahman Choobiasl, accused of spying for Israel. According to Tehran, Choobiasl met with Mossad officials. Iran's Mizan news agency, the official mouthpiece of the judiciary, claims the man worked on "sensitive telecommunications projects" and reported on "methods of importing electronic devices." The Oslo-based group Iran Human Rights and the Washington-based Abdorrahman Boroumand Center for Human Rights in Iran estimate that the number of people executed in the Islamic Republic in 2025 will exceed 1,000. However, they warn, the number could be higher, as Tehran does not provide reports on every execution.
