Milan, 27 September (LaPresse) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says his country will not abandon the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, even if UN sanctions come back into force as planned this weekend. This was reported by the Times of Israel. ‘We do not intend to abandon the NPT,’ Pezeshkian told reporters on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, warning that foreign powers were looking for ‘a superficial pretext to ignite the region.’ Pezeshkian also said that the administration of US President Donald Trump had not shown sincerity in the nuclear talks, including the negotiations prior to an Israeli attack.
