Milan, 25 September. (LaPresse) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to address the United Nations General Assembly in New York today via video message after the administration of US President Donald Trump denied visas to Palestinian delegates, effectively preventing them from attending the meeting in person. On 29 August, the US State Department announced that it would deny and revoke visas to members of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) on grounds of national security, stating that they had failed to honour past commitments and had “compromised the prospects for peace”.
