Turin, 23 September (LaPresse) – Hamas has welcomed the joint statement issued by France and Saudi Arabia at the United Nations, which ‘reaffirms the unwavering international commitment to the two-state solution’. The Palestinian organisation, Al Jazeera reports, has called for this position to be translated into ‘concrete action’ leading to a permanent ceasefire, an exchange of prisoners, the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and an end to settlement activities and annexation plans.
