Frankfurt (Germany), Sept. 22 (LaPresse) – Poland will respond firmly to any violation of its airspace. Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the government is prepared to give the order to shoot down flying objects entering national territory and posing a threat. "There is no debate on this," Tusk told Polish media, as reported by DPA. However, the prime minister clarified that more ambiguous situations require caution: "You must think twice before making decisions that could cause a serious escalation of the conflict." Tusk referred to last Friday’s incident, when two Russian fighter jets flew at low altitude over a Polish platform in the Baltic Sea without crossing into Polish territory. The prime minister also emphasized the importance of international support: "Poland must be certain that our allies view these incidents the same way and that, in the event of escalation, Warsaw will not be left alone."
