Middle East, IDF orders evacuation of displaced persons from school in Gaza City

Milan, Sept. 22 (LaPresse) – The Israeli army has issued a new forced evacuation order for a school in Gaza City that shelters hundreds of displaced Palestinians who fled their homes in the eastern part of the city, reports Al Jazeera.

“The situation is becoming even more severe because these people have nowhere to take refuge, and the high costs of moving and relocating to the south are very high and unsustainable for hundreds of displaced Palestinians,” said Ibrahim al-Khalili of Al Jazeera. “The situation is becoming increasingly grave and chaotic in light of these initial evacuation orders.”

“They told us we had six or seven hours to quickly evacuate the school,” said Najwa Musabeh, a displaced woman. “We have been living like this for two years. We have no money to keep moving. We left behind our belongings, and even my children. I don’t know where they are or where they have gone. We don’t know where we’re going, but we will not leave Gaza. We have nowhere else to go.”
