Milan, 11 September (LaPresse) – France's new Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, met today with the leaders of the Centres and Les Républicains (LR) parties in Matignon. During the meeting, there were “frank and open discussions with the Prime Minister about what has worked in the past and what has not”, a source who was present told Bfmtv. ‘The Prime Minister wants to consolidate this common ground,’ the source added, ‘this was shared around the table.’ After spending about an hour with National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet at the Palais Bourbon, Lecornu then headed to the Luxembourg Palace, where he met with Senate President Gérard Larcher. In the afternoon, Nicolas Sarkozy received him in his offices. ‘He was happy to meet the Prime Minister. He reiterated his friendship and expressed his support,’ the former president's entourage told Bfmtv.
