Rome, 6 September. (LaPresse) – 88 countries have suspended, in whole or in part, their postal services with the United States following the imposition of American customs duties. This was announced by the United Nations postal agency, the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which noted that, as a result, there has been an 80% decrease in postal traffic to the country. The agency's director general, Masahiko Metoki, said the agency is working on the “rapid development of a new technical solution that will allow the resumption of mail delivery to the United States”.
