Milan, 5 September (LaPresse) – The Russian economy should become a high-wage economy in the future: this is the essence of the state strategy currently being implemented. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), according to reports by the Tass news agency. ‘The development of the Far East and the Arctic, and the construction of the economy of the future, should lead,’ he stressed, ‘to an increase in people's well-being and incomes, and to a structural change in employment in favour of skilled and well-paid jobs. This is the logic, the profound meaning of the strategy we are implementing in these regions and throughout the country.’ ‘The Russian economy should become a high-wage economy. This is not an empty phrase, it is not populism: there is economic sense in all this,’ Putin remarked.
