Middle East: media reports 17 people killed in Israeli raids on Gaza

Rome, 1 September (LaPresse) – 17 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air raids in various areas of Gaza since dawn today, Al Jazeera Arabic reported, citing hospital sources. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said the death toll since the start of the Israeli war in October 2023 has risen to 63,459, while more than 160,256 people have been injured. Gaza hospitals recorded seven new deaths on Sunday due to starvation caused by Israel's months-long blockade of essential aid. This brings the total number of deaths from malnutrition to 339, including 124 children. The Gaza government press office said the number of journalists killed in Israel's war on Gaza had risen to 247 following the death of journalist Islam Abed on Sunday.
