Rome, 31 August (LaPresse) – Israeli Culture Minister Miki Zohar, ahead of today's government meeting, told Channel 12 that a temporary ceasefire agreement for the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza ‘is not on the agenda’. This was reported by The Times of Israel. ‘There is a clear decision by the State of Israel, and in my opinion it could be expressed more clearly in the coming days: only a comprehensive agreement,’ Zohar told Channel 12 last night. "There is no longer any possibility of a partial agreement. Israel has decided that a partial agreement is not on the agenda. The only thing on the agenda is the end of the war, along with, of course, the return of all hostages and the demilitarisation of the Strip." Zohar's comments come two weeks after Hamas said it had accepted the broad outlines of a 60-day ceasefire agreement that would see the release of 10 Israeli prisoners still alive, of the 48 hostages still held by terrorist groups in Gaza, at least 20 of whom are believed by Israel to still be alive.
