Kyiv, August 30 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has rejected proposals to create a buffer zone between Ukrainian and Russian forces as part of a peace agreement, arguing that it does not reflect the reality of modern warfare.
"Only those who do not understand the technological aspect of today's war propose a buffer zone," he told journalists, according to the BBC.
The Ukrainian president's comments follow press rumors suggesting that European leaders are considering a 40-kilometer buffer zone as part of a ceasefire or long-term agreement.
