Brussels, August 30 (LaPresse) – “This week’s bloody attacks by Russia once again show that Vladimir Putin, at this point, has no intention of ending the imperialist war — the war of colonization — that he began over three years ago against Ukraine. And if indeed, in just a few days, at the end of the two-week deadline given by President Trump, Vladimir Putin continues to oppose a high-level meeting with the President of Ukraine, then we will have to force him by increasing sanctions — sanctions from the United States, but also European sanctions.”

This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, upon his arrival at the informal Foreign Affairs Council (Gymnich) in Copenhagen.

“And this issue will obviously be at the center of our discussions this morning in Copenhagen. I will present the proposals that France has drawn up so we can cut off the resources Vladimir Putin is pouring into this war and stop the Russian war machine by targeting the energy sector, the financial sector, and perhaps even some civilian sectors that indirectly continue to support Russia’s war effort,” he explained.
